District Preventive Child Protection Programme

SPS and LEHER tied hands in hands and currently working in 3 blocks of Madhubani disticts i.e Rajnagar, Pandaul and Bisfi. This project aims for protection of children from all forms whether it be Child Sexual abuse, Child labour, drug abuse . By the order of DM constitution of VCPC(Village Child Protection Committee) was done and through this adolescent boys and girls groups were formed . VCPC members are from community, ANM, Anganwadi, ward members and local stakeholder. Children group address their issues in VCPC meeting and the committee resolves their issues. Out of the many issues which are being addressed in the meeting three major concerns are child marriage , child labour and drug abuse. The groups whether its CG or VCPC is given timely training on child related issues so that they can address the cases by themselves. The target groups under this project are adolescent and youth groups as they are more vulnerable due to their curiosity and stage. So far with the help of VCPC villagers have availed benefit of following schems :-Ration card, Disable pension, Disable card, Parvarish Pension, Matritva Vandan, Matritva Vandana Yojna, PM awas Yojna, Scholarship, MDM Yojna, Birth certificate, Ujjwala Yojna. VCPC have been able to stop child marriage cases , mainstreaming girl and boys to school, child sexual abuse cases.
